Glasses on my mind.

I have glasses on my mind.

I have been doing a lot of thinking about glasses recently (yes I know, I need a hobby) The heat this summer has been absolutely crazy here in London so I have been going makeupless to avoid smudging and running. When I go bare faced I always reach for my glasses so I don’t feel so plain. I have been wearing my glasses more and more recently especially because my sight has gotten worse in the last couple of years. Being a make-up girl I am able to change my my look as much as I like using different products and colours so I definitely need a way to change up my look when I am bare faced.

Because I wear glasses much more frequently now I feel like I should invest in a second pair, I love the glasses I have now but just like clothes I would like to have options.  Here are my glasses that I have now…

20150710_134730

I recently bought a pair of glasses on ebay that I really liked the shape of because I wanted to try them out to see if they suited me before buying a pair that shape from a proper optician, 20150625_234543

I really love the rounded shape and will definitely go for something more like this for my next pair. So I am now on the hunt for a cute pair of second glasses. I have been having a look at Optical Express and have seen some really lovely ones. Optical Express are the UK leaders in laser eye surgery but the fact that I love wearing glasses and how much they can change your face means that i’d much rather buy fashionable glasses than have corrective surgery. I remember when I was young loving my mums glasses and being sad that I didn’t need any lol and now that I need glasses I haven’t really taken advantage of all the amazing frames that are available.

I started thinking recently about the amount people spend on glasses. I have only been wearing glasses for around 2 and a half years and have always been content with one pair, but when I think its the one fashion item that I will wear every day and its ON MY FACE! so I am definitely on a mission to get some more glasses, I now see them as being as important as having groomed eyebrows or a nice smile, it is one of the first things people see when they look at you . I’m not one to turn down the opportunity to make a statement so cute glasses here I come.

You can find a bit more information on Optical Express here They also have a great range of designer sunglasses and the site has a wealth of information on general eye care and health.

Any suggestions on glasses shapes you think may suit me please let me know.

I am the dancing lady lol

Since Scarlett & Jo showed up in Evans I have been a huge fan (lol) I especially love the midi length dresses so when the opportunity arose to try something from their line that isn’t my usual style I jumped at it.

In this post I have on the Red Print Maxi Dress I was a little concerned about how I would get on with the length because I am only 5′ 3″ but with a pair of heels it was absolutely fine.

As soon as I put the dress on I felt like the little dancing lady emoji

The lining of the dress is considerably shorter than the georgette outer later so the dress is sheer from the knee down. I would say this is a very grown up dress and feels very fancy for a maxi dress. This is not a dress that I could wear on a normal summer day, I would definitely say it was an occasion dress,

I have this dress in a size 32 and I found the dress very tight around the middle so I would say to size up in this one of you can.

I love the colour of this dress and it gave me an excuse (not that I ever need one) to grab a red lippy.

IMG-20150701-WA0020 IMG-20150701-WA0056 IMG-20150701-WA0060

The blue version to this dress is currently in the Evans sale at a massively reduced price so go go go!!!!

IGIGI at Curvety

Being right at the top end of the size range that is held in plus size stores, I am always interested in places that hold sizes larger than a UK 32.

Curvety is an online retailer that stock beautiful items all the way up to a UK 36. I was especially interested in their range of dresses. They stock a number of different brands including their own line.

They offered me my choice of dress from the website and I chose the beautiful IGIGI Dominique dress in Jade.

I decided to size up in this dress as its an option that is very rarely open to me and I’m really glad that I did, It is a really comfortable fit and I like the extra length I got by sizing up.

1427380744-00031200

I love the way the dress fits, even if I had it in my own size I know it would skim my body in the same way. I have no shapewear with this dress and still the is no evidence of lumps and bumps.

IMG-20150616-WA0019

The wrap effect and length are super classy so I love that you can show some cleavage to sex it up a bit if you want to (I always want to lol)

I am only 5ft 3″ tall so dresses come up a little longer on me which I am really happy about because I am obsessed with midi length dresses in case you hadn’t noticed.

I really like the 3/4 length sleeves because the weather is improving and I love having my tattoos on display. This is a super easy dress to wear, It’s so comfortable and still really looks like you made an effort.IMG-20150616-WA0017 IMG-20150616-WA0021

Because of the really pretty design of the dress I wanted to keep the styling simple and not over accesorise. I have on simple studs and a cute jade coloured bracelet. My black heels are from Next.

*This dress was gifted to me but all opinions are 100% my own x

#WeAreTheThey ‘They’ can’t wear that!

A week on and #WeAreTheThey has been popping up all over the place. This post is about what ‘They’ shouldn’t be wearing. Being that my blog is called UCantWearThat! I was really excited to do this.

Instead of writing loads about what society says ‘They/We’ shouldn’t wear I’m just going to show you a ton of pictures of me going against some of the so called fat fashion rules.

Fat girls shouldn’t wear crop tops and fat girls shouldn’t wear figure hugging dresses are probably my favourite fat fashion rules to break.

Below are some pics of me rocking the hell out of some tight dresses and some of me with my belly out for the world to see.

As long and you are happy and feel comfortable with it then there is nothing that UCantWear lol

Doing Chubby Cartwheels!

The Natalie dress.

A little while ago I opened my email inbox to find an email from Shawna of Chubby Cartwheels, to say I was over the moon would be an understatement. I have been following her for a while now and think she is an amazing woman. I love seeing women that are a similar size to me flying the flag for fat girls everywhere.

The Chubby Cartwheels site is full of beautiful pieces, what I like the most is that there are so many unique items and that some of the pieces are customisable so you can adjust the sleeve length etc to suit you before placing an order.

Chubby Cartwheels is very well known for the their stunning range of body suits up to a 5x, A couple that I have been seeing everywhere are the mesh and lace bodysuits. Fat girls all over Instagram have been donning these bodysuits with pride and it really is beautiful to see.

When looking though the website, as I always am, I was drawn to the dress section and the Natalie dress stood out to me instantly, the plush velvet material is a fabric I have been lusting after in a dress for a while, especially with a couple of companies bringing out velvet dresses but not quite up to my size.

PicsArt_1428246392084

I got this dress in a 5x as I wear a UK size 30/32 and the fit is brilliant. I am only 5ft 3″ tall so the dress comes up longer on me than it does on the model on the site, for me this is a plus as I love where this dress hits on my legs.  PicsArt_1428314362287

I’m actually staying in London for a few weeks and I only have one case full of clothes so I don’t have much in the way of styling options.  This is a classic cut skater dress so it’s so versatile and easy to wear,  I put the dress on with a pair of black vans just to show it at its most casual and I actually really like it that way. The material gives it a little extra something so its casual but far from boring.PicsArt_1428314455755

At the moment I am totally obsessed it tights and brogues (as you will see from an upcoming post). I think a lot of dresses can be styled this way and makes for a very wearable outfit. I love brogues and a blazer paired with so many different dresses, its still really comfortable but looks like you’ve made an effort. PicsArt_1428314559326

When I first saw this dress on the website I knew straight away that I wanted to wear it with boots, a leather jacket and a dark lip. Unfortunately I didn’t have either of my leather jackets in London 🙁 but I still really love the dress with the boots, In this instance I do wish the dress was a little shorter on me as I lose a lot of leg in the boots.PicsArt_1428314654446I really love this dress!!!! I like it all the ways I have worn it but I think my preference is with the brogues and tights.

I have another item that I bought from Chubby Cartwheels to share with you soon… so keep an eye out.

*This dress was very kindly gifted to me for review purposes, all opinions are honest and my own*

Ann Harvey at Bon Marche

I was recently contacted and asked if I would like to review an Ann Harvey dress as they are now selling at Bon Marche. I went straight onto the website and was very pleasantly surprised to find that they have items up to a size 32. The places that stock items all the way up to 32 are always of interest to me obviously.

While looking through the dresses I decided to go for something that was a little more grown up than what I would usually go for, I always go for dresses that are around calf length so again I figured this may be a good time to try something different.

20150304_152027

I love the baroque print on this dress which I feels adds to the grown up/sophisticated style of the dress. The dress really is beautiful and is a wrap style with gold detailing at the waist. I normally wear quite fun and young pieces but I’m really looking forward to having an occasion to wear this dress to.

20150304_153030

The dress is a Polyester/Elastane mix and is not structured at all so I wore it with my usual shapewear.  Personally I would probably wear tights with this dress as I prefer my legs in tights but this dress is a great length to wear with or without. 20150304_153031Ann Harvey at Bon Marche have some really beautiful dresses and are currently having a huge 50% off sale. The dress that I have on is now half price at £22.50 (link below)

Ann Harvey Baroque Print Dress

Am I the only person that didn’t know Ann Harvey went up to a size 32??? Now I know I will definitely keep an eye on them.

The Medusa you can’t help but look at!

It’s no secret to anyone that I love the Lady V London dresses, so when Georgina at Fuller Figure Fuller Bust collaborated with lady v London to create a range of dress up to a size 32 I was extremely excited. The brand Lady Voluptuous was born and Lucia became a very very happy girl.

I have another dress from the collection, The Cosette which I have blogged about here

The leopard print Medusa dress was one I knew I had to had as soon as he dresses were released on to the website. I loved the print but I particularly like the shape of the dress. I love seeing plus size women in figure hugging dresses, especially ladies at the higher end of plus size.

20150304_144022

20150304_162946 I wanted to be able to blog this dress and show you all just how amazing it is and give you an idea what it looks like on a size 30/32. I don’t often take side on shots but I want to show how well the material of this dress skims my tummy. The dress is figure hugging in all the places you want it to be and has just enough space for those of you who don’t want it to hug the tummy area too much,

This post is going to be super picture heavy as the dress is absolutely stunning and the pictures really do speak for themselves.

20150304_144118 My Georgina pose lol

20150304_162926 This is probably my fave picture of the set as it was taken between poses, natural pics are always my favourite so I thought I would include it.  20150304_162915

I am quite a bit shorter than Gerogina who models her dresses on the site but I love where the dress stops on me. I’m not a fan of having my knees on show and I was elated when I tried the dress on because I was worried it would be approaching maxi length on me and I was wrong.20150304_144534(0) 20150304_144013

I took pics of this dress with three different pairs of shoes just so you can all see what it would look like whether you like high heels or low, I like the way it looks with all the types of shoes I tried but I especially liked the burgundy stilettos as they matched my lips and made my bum look huge lol.

20150304_141744I did some dramatic cat-like eye make up to fit with the leopard print in the dress and a simply nude lip.

I really really want one of the Bellatrix dresses from the collection next, they are absolutely gorgeous and like I said I love a nice figure hugging dress.

Which dress from the collection is your favourite and why? I’m really interested in knowing what other people think of the dresses in the range,

ASOS #HERESWHATIWOULDHAVESPENT

I am a huge fan of the ASOS Curve range so when Debz suggested Asos as the brand for this months #hereswhatiwouldhavespent challenge I thought it was a great idea because I dont think I have ever looked at the clothing items in the ASOS main range.

I knew what I was going to look for straight away, I went straight to the co ords section. Asos Curve have some beautiful co ord pieces in at the moment and I wanted to see what they had in the main range.
The most beautiful Co ord set I have ever seen in my life is this one…image1xl
I would really love to see a co ord set like this one in the Curve range as it is definitely something that I would pick up. After seeing this one I was a little disappointed in the co ords in the Curve range lol

I’m a big fan of statement skirts and this one is absolutely gorgeous, I’d probably prefer it in another colour or maybe a nice print but they style and fabric of the skirt is just gorgeous.

image1xl (1)

I have a skirt that is similar to this but I had it custom made to my measurements and was a little bit dear so it would be lovely to see a skirt like this sold up to my size available to purchase from a popular retailer.

I love what ASOS Curve is doing for plus size fashion so I don’t really have any real complaints but It was really fun to have a look through their main range at things I would have loved to be able to buy.

This is a really quick post but something I really wanted to take part in.

Any suggestions on where I can get anything like either of these items are more than welcome by the way.

See you soon guys x

A little bit of Scarlett & Jo

Anyone who reads my blog will know I have a love of Scarlett & Jo. I love the length of their tea dresses and the amount of different prints they have available.  I love the way the tea dresses skim my body. I won’t go on and on but you can have a look at another review I did of a Scarlett & Jo tea dress Here

 Screenshot_2015-02-27-08-45-17 Screenshot_2015-02-27-08-44-39 Screenshot_2015-02-27-08-44-17 Screenshot_2015-02-27-08-43-59

I tried this dress with the burgundy shoes and it looked lush but the heels were a little high for me to wear all day do I traded them for a pair of midi heels which also worked really well with the dress. The last review of one of their tea dresses I actually pair it with a pair of tan brogues, I love how versatile these dresses are, allowing you to dress them up or down depending on the look you are after.

20141226_131310

I love the detail on the bust, It shows just a little boob but is still very modest,

Scarlett & Jo have two very similar tea dresses out at the moment in the same colour and floral prints but one is a cowl neck and one had lace detailing. The range really does have something for everyone. Check out those two similar dresses Here and Here

Take a minute to check out the Scarlett & Jo range on Evans as they have some beautiful full length dresses that are just stunning!

The beautiful Cosette

I am going to talk like you have all been hiding under rocks and don’t already know this…

Georgina over at FullerFigureFullerBust, in collaboration with Lady V London, has released a new range of 12 vintage plus size dresses with a promise of more to come In her own line called Lady Voluptuous.  At the time of this post there are currently three styles in the range in a variety of colours and prints.

dress1

The Lyra dress

dress2

The Cosette

dress3

The Medusa

The dresses are absolutely stunning, I love the fact that Georgina has tried to add elements to each dress to make them appeal to different people. Everyone has their little insecurities and I think Georgina has kept these in mind when designing these dresses. The Cosette and The Medusa are perfect for me because I’m not a huge fan of my knees. I favour dresses that have a slightly longer length. I know a lot of people don’t like having their arms on show etc and each dress in the range has a different sleeve type. No collection will ever have every dress for every woman but the effort and thought that’s gone into this collection is evident.

Anyway…

The Cosette!!!!!

“Cosette was a condensation of auroral light in womanly form.”
Victor Hugo, Les Misérables

Ugh, So perf!

I was on the Lady V London website refreshing the page over and over again waiting for the collection to launch and the Rose Print Floral Cosette was the first dress that popped up on the home page and I instantly fell in love!

438A8214-01

The fit of this dress is very similar to the Estella that Georgina and Ladv V London brought out last year, The Estella was by far my favourite dress of all time and I’m not even kissing when I say love this dress even more.  This dress gives my body a shape I didn’t even know I had. Even without the belt my waist is accentuated and I love it!

Screenshot_2015-02-21-20-07-07I love every single thing about this dress, It literally feels like it was made for me. The length is perfect on my 5ft 3 body, it fits in the bust so well, just fr reference I wear a 46K. I was a little worried about whether the sleeves would fit because I have huge arms and I was very pleasantly surprised when the dress arrived. Another massive thing for me was the belt, In my eyes that was the true test because these has been so many times I have purchased a belted dress and Ive had to chuck the belt because it comes nowhere close to fitting. The belt on this dress has no stretch at all and it still *praise the dress gods (and Georgina)*

I love that even without the belt on I still have a waist in this dress.

PicsArt_1424607147444

This is the shape I have in the dress without the belt, the material has some stretch but still feels very structured.

Screenshot_2015-02-21-20-05-53 Screenshot_2015-02-21-20-05-59 I feel so sexy and ‘Pin up’ in this dress. I got so many compliments while wearing it out last night. I literally can’t gush enough about this dress or the line in general.

I want to say a massive Thank you to Georgina and Lady v London for keeping the super fats in mind when designing this line, it is very easy to exclude ladies at the higher end of plus size thinking there is just no demand, It genuinely warms my heart that some people recognise the need for sexy, fashionable, well made pieces for super plus size girls like myself. At the time of this post the dress I wearing is sold out in the four largest sizes of the six sizes available, proving that the fat girls are online in force getting these dresses and the line only launched 48hrs ago!!!!!!!!

*This dress was sooooooo kindly given to me to review to show that this dress looks just as banging on a size 32 as it will on everyone else*
