Your bedroom should be a beautiful, relaxing space where you can take yourself after a long hard day at work and just relax in a blissful state.
Unfortunately, many of us simply do not have the bedrooms we would dream of. If you’re one of them, I do have some good news though – it’s much easier than you think to make your bedroom look better.
Take something out
Often, bedrooms do not look as serene as they should simply because there is too much stuff in there, and simply by taking out one piece of furniture, you can transform the place by giving yourself more space. If you have a lot of clutter, getting rid of as much of it as you can manage would also help to make the room more relaxing too.
Invest in a new bed frame
Bed frames are, generally speaking, quite big, so your bed is normally the focal point of any bedroom. Since that is the case, buying a new bed frame, if your old one isn’t up to much, is a very simple way of making your whole bedroom look better. Ornately carved wood and metal bed frames look great, but if it’s coziness you’re after, a fabric bed frame is an ideal choice for comfort and style.
Add a feature wall
Bedrooms are better when they’re as relaxing as possible so trying to fit too many design points into the space rarely works out well. If you do want to add a flourish of style, it’s best to choose one focal point and keep the rest of the place quite neutral. A good way to do this is by creating a feature wall either with statement wallpaper, a piece of art or maybe even a gallery wall. Behind the bed is good because you won’t need to look at it all the time, which means when you need to turn your brain off, you can do so more easily, but any wall you prefer will be fine. An amazing way to create a temporary feature wall for an event or a bedroom photo shoot would be to rent a custom flower wall which changes up a space completely.
Hang a mirror
If your bedroom is a bit dark or smaller than you would like, a good trick you can use is to hang a mirror on whichever wall is opposite your bedroom window. This will reflect the light back into your space and give the illusion of there being more space around you. The bigger the mirror, the better the effect will be.
Hang window dressings
You probably have blackout blinds or curtains in your bedroom to help you sleep, but window dressings are about so much more than that – they frame your windows and add a statement of style and sophistication to your space, so upgrade your curtains to velvet or invest in a bespoke blind and see how transformed your room looks.
Accessorize
Last, but not least, take the time to add candles and fresh flowers to your nightstands and dressing table. These will add some high-class atmosphere to the space whatever you are using it for.
Your bedroom can be better and you deserve it to be better, so what are you waiting for?
