Whilst this time of year is admittedly my favourite season, the interchangeable weather can be hard to deal with. After all, how do you dress for being out for the whole day when you don’t know what the weather is going to bring? Today alone it’s been cold, it’s rained and now it’s sunny again – making it so hard to know how to dress.
Getting Things Right For You
One thing to remember is that everyone is different, some of us are naturally hot people whilst others are much cooler – so what you need to wear might differ from someone else. Personally I’m a fan of jumpers, long sleeves and layers as I like to feel cosy, but I know not everyone is the same. If you’re someone that naturally feels warm then it can be worrying to leave the house wearing loads of layers because you worry that later on in the day you’re going to get too hot and start sweating. It can be a fine balance, but getting things right for you is definitely the key to feeling comfortable the whole day.
Wearing the Right Stuff
Did you know it that’s possible to get sweat proof undershirts? They generally have hidden pads on the underarm that ensure your t shirt stays sweat stain free. I think this is a great idea because it means you can take your jumper off later in the day and you don’t have to worry about how to get sweat stains out of shirts and instead you can feel confident that taking your jumper off is safe! I recently came across a website called Social Citizen that have a range of these tops for men and women available; they do a decent size range and I am hoping in the future that this will be extended because I think it’s such a clever idea.
Being Comfortable All Day
It can be hard to plan your whole day when the weather is interchangeable like it is at the time of year. In the summer it’s easy to assume that it’s going to be hot all day so you can dress and plan accordingly, but Autumn is something that is much trickier. However, wearing undershirts like the ones at Social Citizen mean that you can wear layers without too much hassle and can be sweat free, which sounds like a win-win situation to me!
As well as wearing layers I would say that one piece of advice I would give for this time of year is to try and get into the habit of taking waterproof items with you. After all, a quick rain shower could be enough to ruin anyones day. So… if you are planning on leaving the house then even if it seems warm now, make sure you take a rainmac or an umbrella with you. That way, even if it rains you can be confident that you’re not to end the day too wet from the rain.
Being Comfortable in Your Own Skin
We all know that I’m an advocate for being comfortable in your own skin and I know that feeling sweaty or having sweat showing on your clothes can be a source of embarrassment. I love that there is more coming to the market which means there are clothes for everyone, so the fact that these exist to help those that do sweat more easily have options to help them feel happy and confident in the clothes that they wear.
Would you wear something like this?
