I have never been the type of person to run out and do what everyone else is doing but I was hearing a lot of good things about this particular book and books are something I don’t play with! I read a lot and I love the way I can get completely lost in a book.
The people who read my blog know that I love fashion and makeup but people who know in in real life know that I always have a book on the go.
When I start a book that is the book am reading, I can’t stop one book half way through and start another. That’s also something that bothers me about book series, I can find a series to read and absolutely love it and read the 2 or 3 books that have been released really quickly but waiting for the next book to come out seriously drives me crazy. I’m not even kidding I must be in the middle of reading more that 15 series of books at the moment and I’m sure a few of them I will just never get back to.
At the moment my focus is on stand alone books that once they are done they can go on the shelf and I have closure. When I heard about The Goldfinch I knew it was something that I wanted to read. what I usually do is buy a book on my Kindle and if I fall in love with it I will buy a hard copy for the bookshelf. When I moved to the Midlands last year I gave soooo many books to charity and only kept the ones I could;n’ live without because I just didn’t have space for so many. Now I am back living in London and although I want to keep the collection small there are some books I just want to have.
Purely from reading the reviews and trying to dodge spoilers like a ninja I decided to buy The Goldfinch in hard copy straight away. This so not a book review because I am not very far into the book at all but I wanted to share with you guy what I am reading at the moment and maybe do a brief review of the book when I am done if people are at all interested.
Also while I am on the subject of books I recently came into contact with another blogger who makes amazing this using origami and fabrigami. When I saw that she makes beautiful heart shaped bookmarks I knew I had to have some so I contacted her to ask if she would make me some in some really cute ‘girly’ print paper and she agreed and not only that but she offered to send me a pack of cute bookmarks to giveaway to one of my readers whoop whoop. I haven’t done a giveaway in forever. You can find Chloe’s origami and crafty things here
These are the beautiful bookmarks that I have…

My favourite book is by Catherine Cookson the House of Women (I’m from the North east too) because it’s written about powerful women and it’s based in the north east of England. I’m a feminist and from the NE so I can really relate and her style of writing reflects the reigon so well. Lots a great read about the lives of a few northern women in a house and where the power lies.
I’ve heard so much about that book! I’ve just started reading the new Shopaholic book (probably not surprising haha) xxx
